I hope when he grows up he will have nice color to him. he is about a month old right now. I have a boa and a carpet python but this is my first burm. I already have a 6' cage that I have made for him. I cant wait to get him.

Congratulations on your first! I just got my first ...ahem.. and second ...a few weeks ago! :D

He's a cute little dude! I would definitely gradually move him up to the big cage, though... like someone mentioned.. ;)

I agree, he would feel well...a little "insecure" in a large cage. When is he due to arrive ?

Welcome! Nice looking little guy.

Like the others have stated, you don't want to put a young one in a cage that large. They need a small and confined space to give them a sense of security. You can have aggression and feeding problems if you put them in a cage that size right from the get go.

I think he should be here tuesday. I have a 55g tank or a 30g tank I will prob use one of them for a while.

I'd go with the 30 for starters. Cover the back and sides with paper and give him plenty of places to hide and he should be okay.

got my new burm today. he seems really sweat. I got a question though. he is just a baby, only 3 weeks or a month old and I was wondering do baby pythons have a spot were there umbilical cord was? he has a small slit on his belly and was wondering if that is what it is or if he has been cut. I have never had a snake this young befor.
